Manual Batch Screening

Besides using our API for automated Sanctions & AML Screenings, you can use sanctions.io also for manual batch screenings. All you need is a sanctions.io account and access to our customer portal. If this is set up, you are ready to go and just need to follow the following steps:

1. Download our CSV or Excel Template

Use our Excel (or CSV) template which you can find in our Batch Screening Portal.

2. Fill in your Data

Open the file and fill in your data. Please note that at least the following fields are required:

external_identifier: Here, please enter your own internal ID for the customer/business partner. It will help you to map the results to your own systems.

min_score: Minimum confidence-score results will have to match. (We recommend starting with a score of 0.8, which is a good starting point for most customers)

data_source: The short name of the specific data sources you want to consider for your screening. You can find a list of all sources, including the shortcodes here.

name: The full name (First and Last Name) for individuals or the registered name for entities.

entity_type: The entity type of the record you are screening for. ("Entity", "Individual", "Vessel", "Aircraft")

Please refer to our Implementation Guide and Best Practices for further considerations regarding the screening setup.

3. Upload your File and Start the Screening Process

Select your file in the Batch Screening Portal and click on the "Submit" Button.

4. Getting your Results

The screening process can take a while depending on the number of records in your file. You will receive a notification via email (which will be sent to the email address that is connected with the account), including a summary and a link to download the results:

You can also check the portal for any new results, but please be aware that you will need to refresh the website to see new results:

5. Results Are Available In CSV & JSON

Please note that the CSV file contains all your records, and the results, if any, will be available in the same line of the record towards the end of the columns.

If a record has multiple results, the record will appear multiple times in the file. (In the example below, column F shows the number of results for that record with the screening result data in the columns with field names starting with "result_")
